To the “True Church”:
Greetings in the wonderful name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! The Lenten season brings with it a variety of activities and special services for the Christian Community here in the Redbank Valley to celebrate our collective faith in Jesus Christ. I have to believe that this is the very type of thing that Jesus meant when He offered His prayer to God The Father in John chapter 17: “…I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me…” My prayer is that all Christ followers will come together and embrace the efforts of the Redbank Valley Church Association to build up and edify the Body of Christ here in The Valley by whole heartedly supporting and participating in the various community services and events throughout the course of the year.
Another goal of The Church Association is to assist the united Body of Christ as we endeavor to meet real needs right here in our own community. The Redbank Valley Food Pantry is a prime example of one such ministry! Before you stop reading, consider this; God so loved the world that He sent His own Son, Jesus, on a rescue mission to save us from our sin. Interestingly enough, God did not make us prove our worth or somehow earn His help, in fact scripture teaches, that even while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. The fact is that many families in our area have been greatly helped by the Food Pantry. The need is real and the reward is eternal! A box of food in Jesus Name will feed a body for a few days; the love of Jesus demonstrated by a volunteer may change a soul forever! May God continue to bless the efforts of so many to impact our Valley for the cause of Jesus Christ! I am asking you to help! We need more volunteers. Please consider helping your Brothers and Sisters in Christ by putting your hand to the task! Please read the attached summary of the current ministry needs and help us be the hands and feet of Jesus. I will look forward to your response as we meet this need together!
Serving Christ with you,
Pastor Rocky Hammond, Chairperson RVCA
